Leadership Inspiration – Successful Tomorrow

Leadership Inspiration Successful Tomorrow

What are you doing today to create a Successful Tomorrow

We all have the same 24 hours in a day.  The same 1,440 minutes.  What we do with them is what makes all the difference.

In order to be successful, we first need to know what success looks like.  It is different for each of us.  We must define our version, and keep that vision in mind as we go through each day.

All of our daily activities fall in one of three categories:  Value add, non value add, and necessary non value add.

  • Value add activities are what get us closer to our goals.  To our version of success.  Each day, we should be maximizing the value add.  These can be career-oriented, time with family, education…all that matters is they move us forward towards our definition of success.
  • Non value add is anything that takes away from achieving our success.  Time wasters live here.  We should be minimizing them whenever possible.  Just keep in mind, some things that may seem like time wasters feed our souls.  Don’t cut out all the everyday pleasures, as those are what help make life worth living.
  • Lastly, we must make time for the necessary non value add.  These are things like doing our taxes or home maintenance.  If we don’t do them, we can risk our reputations, our credit, etc.  The objective with these activities should be to minimize the time they take and outsource where possible.

Today, evaluate where you are putting your time.  How much is spent on time wasters?  Distractions that are keeping you from achieving your goals?

Each day, commit to spending at least a portion of it moving closer to your vision of success.  As with anything in life, the more time you spend, the faster you’ll get there.
